We believe that we all learn best by doing.  A Point In Time is dedicated to bringing you education rich in information and hands-on learning.  Our customized, experiential programs can come to you.

Extensive field experience in natural history and archaeology shapes our program content.  Years of wilderness living and overseas travel allow us to present an engaging and unusual perspective.  Our collection of replica artifacts from a variety of cultures worldwide is a unique treasure we share with our students.  We live what we teach!

Tom and Julia of A Point In Time travel widely throughout the United States.  We have worked with groups in Alaska, Illinois, Oregon, Washington, and Arizona.  With some advance planning, we can come to your area.  We are happy to match the needs of your group, and are respectful of differences in beliefs and culture.

We have designed programs for elementary schools, homeschool groups, colleges, historical sites, nature centers, Elderhostel, earth science fairs, and gem/mineral shows.  Ask for references!

Some examples of our programs...

•  Geology: through demonstrations and activities, learn about rocks, minerals, and fossils.  Create an earthquake with your group, and apply mathematics to understanding the Richter Scale.  Find out how important geology is to you!
• U.S. History: from Lewis and Clark's expedition to the fur trade era to the Oregon Trail, learn about Westward Expansion through role-playing, journaling, and sensory awareness. 
• Archaeology: your ancestors knew how to make the tools they needed for everyday living from what was available in the environment around them.  Learn how resourceful your ancestors were through ancient technology demonstrations and hands-on activities.
